Symphony launches Roar A50 Android One phone for Tk 8,700 in Bangladesh

As revealed by Google in the Android One program expansion announcement, Symphony Mobiles on Sunday unveiled its first Android One smartphone in the form of Symphony Roar A50 in Bangladesh. It is the second Android One phone to be launched in the country. Micromax has earlier launched the Canvas A1 smartphone.
The Roar A50 is now available for pre-booking and will go on sale in mid-January via telecom operator Banglalink.
“We always try to satisfy our customers by providing them with new experiences through durable and cost-efficient handsets. We are proud to make this partnership with Banglalink and Android One, through which our customers will definitely be more satisfied,” said Rezwanul Hoque, senior director of Symphony.
Like other Android One phones, Symphony Roar A50 is also based on the Android One reference hardware and comes with the same set of specifications. The phone packs a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1GB of RAM, Android 4.4.4 and 5MP rear camera. It also comes with 3G, dual-SIM support, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and 2MP front shooter.
The smartphone has been priced at Tk 8,700 ($111). The smartphone buyers will get 1GB of free data in the first month and an additional 300 MB of data every month for the next six months from Banglalink. The free data is only valid for system updates and app downloads.
