First of all your device must be ROOTED.
Whats needed... :
♦ An Android Device having root access
♦ Download Xposed Installer from here. If you are lollipop + user then you need to download the Xposed framework flash file from here and flash it via your custom recovery.
♦ Patience & time :D
How to do ?
♦ First of all install Xposed installer and install the framework. For lollipop + users you need to flash the flash-able zip framework via custom recovery
♦ Now open Xposed download store and download YouTube background playback apk
♦ Activate the module and reboot your device.
♦ Now open YouTube and start any song. Press home button and check the magic. You will also get the controls like pause and stop button in notification panel and in your lock screen.
