WHAT IS RESISTIVE TOUCH AND CAPACITIVE TOUCHSCREEN?

> What is a resistive touchscreen?

- Resistive touchscreens work by applying pressure on the screen. It contains a number of layers. When the screen is pressed, the layers are pushed onto the other layers, the sensors senses the pressure and then registers the input.
Resistive touchscreens works with finger, a stylus or any other pointing object.

> What is a capacitive touchscreen?

- Capacitive touchscreens work by sensing the static charge produced in front of our fingers to register the input. The capacitive screen on any smartphone normally has a glass surface and doesn't require pressure to register the input.

Thus it is more responsive than the resistive touch screen when swiping or pinching. Capacitive touchscreens can only be touched with a finger. Well not any more, as the latest technology used in smartphones removes the barrier of touching the screen directly with your finger.

The latest capacitive touchscreens have a much higher sensitivity used in super amoled displays & and can sense even when wearing a glove.
