YouTube Edition v4 - Ads Free, Background Play, Black Theme

New, YouTube Edition update is here. Another year, another version, the forth edition. Since its first release (24th November, 2017), people's best companion of all time and most favorite app is YouTube Edition (A survey says). But, few months after the third edition release, people around the globe mailed us regarding ads appearing on the home page. I felt like is this it? Has google implemented something new in the ads section on YouTube?

Yes, have you seen YouTube premium for which you have to pay to waive off the ads? That is why home screen ads were showing in third edition of YE.

Still, I did it. This version of YouTube Edition has an option to toggle ads. By default, no ads will appear. Also there were some minor bugs with some of the devices that we fixed and is now based on the latest YouTube build.

Steps to Install :

Download YouTube Edition v4 and Google Signin Helper (To sign in to google account) from below download section.
Install both the apps and then open YouTube Edition.
Signin to your google account to get started.

How To(s)?

Switch to Black User Interface

Tap on your account badge located in the top right corner
Open Settings and then go to Edition Settings
Open Personalization and turn on the last option, Overall Dark. You can also turn only the video playback section to black also by turning on the Playback Only toggle.

Set default video quality on Mobile Network and WiFi

Tap on your account badge located in the top right corner
Open Settings and then open Edition Settings
Open Video Resolution & Speed and set preferred quality on mobile network and/or on WiFi. You can also set preferred video speed and toggle automatic captions.

Turn off/on Background playback

Tap on your account badge located in the top right corner
Open Settings and then Background & Downloads
Open Playback and choose between Always on, headphones/speakers only or always off.

Enable One Handed Controls (Swipe ⇅ Brightness & Volume Controls)
