Its 1st Anniversary of YouTube Edition, 1st version was released same day, a year ago. And in a year, we have made 2 new versions just for the world of YouTube viewers, specially in India. We have changed a lot of things, fixed all the sign in problems, discontinued YouTube Edition X and root mandatory was removed. All this happened in v2. Now its time for a big change. Actually Biggest change ever after the first release.

We now own YE totally with our own manifest, where earlier it used to be Google's manifest. In v3, YouTube Edition now goes to super black. Yes super black, not Google YouTube's dark grey, which looks pretty ugly. this Super Black Technology is used specially for those devices which has a Super AMOLED Display. And believe me or not, people who own devices with this displays, will actually enjoy the magic more than a non super amoled display device owner. With the YouTube Editions new icon in your phone's app drawer and the YE 3 logo as the splash screen it looks stunning. The force stops while switching between background and foreground has been totally fixed with support to all devices and their glance screen/always on display. As the integrated seek bar does the same job as the swipe seek, so we have removed swipe seek control. There are many more changes in this 1st anniversary edition. Steps to Install :

Download YouTube Edition v3 and Google Signin Helper (To signin to your google account)
Install both the apps and then open YouTube Edition

How To(s)?

Switch to Black User Interface

Tap on your account badge located in the top right corner
Open Settings and then open Special Settings
Open Personalization and turn on the last option, Full UI Black. You can also turn only the video playback section to black and else white.

Set default video quality on Mobile Network and WiFi

Tap on your account badge located in the top right corner
Open Settings and then open Special Settings
Open Video Resolution & Speed and set preferred quality on mobile network and on WiFi. You can also set preferred video speed and toggle automatic captions.

Enable One Handed Controls (Swipe ⇅ Brightness & Volume Controls)

Tap on your account badge located in the top right corner
Open Settings and then open Special Settings
Open One Handed Controls and enable the first option

Turn off/on Background playback

Tap on your account badge located in the top right corner
Open Settings and then open Background Playback & Downloads
Open Playback and choose between Always on, headphones/speakers only or always off.
