Google has released its much-awaited Android One phones in India, partnering with Micromax, Spice and Karbonn to bring yet another set of contenders to the sub-Rs 7,000 segment. All three Android One smartphones have the same hardware and software and differ from each other only slightly in terms of design.

The two most popular models in the low-cost smartphone segment are Xiaomi’s Redmi 1S (Rs 5,999) and Motorola’s Moto E (Rs 6,999). Do Xiaomi and Motorola have have something to worry about with the arrival of Android One phones?
